Your Own Unique Love

We’ve all had those feelings of jealousy and desire, whether it be on any Nicholas Sparks movie or third wheeling your best friend and their boyfriend/girlfriend. We’ve all said “That is EXACTLY what I want.” It’s okay to know what you like or don’t like or have perspectives on how you would like to be treated, but don’t start basing all of your wants and needs for your own future relationship on someone else’s story.

I was inspired to write this after talking to a very dear friend of mine about finding that special one someday, she found a great love of her own. I made a comment on finding a love like hers but she stopped me and said “you will find your own unique love that’s perfect for YOU.” Hearing that brought me back to what I preach 24/7, living your truth not somebody else’s. Part of living your truth is knowing what is perfect for your own world and not basing your wants/desires/needs on someone else just because it works for them. Wait for that love that feels like it was made for you, grow WITH that person and never lose sight of your hopes and dreams.

With that being said, live your everyday how you want. Your own unique love isn’t just related to having a partner, it’s loving everyone in your life how you show it, how you tell it and how you live it. Don’t just follow someone else’s arrow.. follow yours :) Que Kasey Musgraves. In the end, others aren’t going to remember how you looked but how you made them feel. They are going to remember how you loved them in your own unique way. Whether you show your love through music, handwritten letters, meaningful gifts or just simply telling someone to let them know when you get home safe. However and whatever you do to show your love, do it.

If every love story was the same there would always be one story line for books, movies, weddings and friendships. There’s a reason why there’s SO many authors and movie writers. There’s a reason why there are so many different ways a wedding can look like, from the flowers to the selected background music. There’s a reason why there’s men who marry women, men who marry men and so on… there’s so many reasons because there are so many unique loves out there. Love that can’t be defined by a single example. Not one love is superior to the other, although some may say that they are living the best love story out there ;)

Be kind to yourself by not rushing into something with someone just to fit someone else’s timeline. Grow and love yourself right now. Grow your friendships and family relationships. Grow your career. Strengthen your mental health. Watch yourself crush your physical goals in the gym. Fall in love with yourself, that’s the ultimate feeling. Show love how you want in this world. This world needs more love, however it’s uniquely expressed.
